Frequently asked questions

Please select from the list below to go directly to the category that interests you.

Where can I learn about current job opportunities at Medtronic?

We post our job openings on our Careers website which you can find via the links under Career Opportunities. Please select your geography preference. You can view current job openings by job category, requisition number, and/or keyword to identify positions that match your interests. We encourage you to create a Candidate Account so you can save job searches and request search agents to notify you when new opportunities arise that match your skills and interests.

How can I apply for a position in the Netherlands?

We post our Dutch job openings on our Careers website which you can find via the link "Medtronic Netherlands" under Career Opportunities. You can view current job openings in the Netherlands by job category, requisition number, and/or keyword to identify positions that match your interests. If you see a job that has your interest, you can apply by using the "Apply Now" button and your resume will be routed directly to those involved in the hiring decision. If there are no current matches, you may submit your resume (preferably in English) to the Talent Acquisition Center in the Netherlands: careers.nl@medtronic.com.

What is the application procedure within Medtronic Netherlands?

Our application procedure consists of two or three rounds of interviews and sometimes a functional test or assessment. Because of quality guidelines (e.g. ISO) a thorough pre-employment screening, including ID, diploma and reference check will be part of the procedure. Depending on the position, we might ask you to deliver an official verification of good behavior. During this entire process, you will be guided by one of our Talent Acquisition Consultants:

Iris Aniba - Customer Care & Integrated Health Solutions, Supply Chain, Service & Repair
Laura Daniels - Clinical Operations, Research & Technology, Procurement & Translations
Karolina Uzar - Allround team Support & Planning
Vera van ’t Hoofd - Information Technology, Sales & Marketing, Finance & HR

I was on your website earlier and saw a posting, but now it is gone. What does that mean?

Current open positions remain on the Careers website while we are accepting applications. Generally, listings are removed from the website when there are strong applicants in the final interview stage, or when the opening has been placed on hold or has been canceled.

Can I submit a unique resume tailored to each position in which I have an interest?

Yes. You may submit an individual resume and cover letter for each position you are interested in by using the "Apply Now" button on each job description.

I sent my application online and want to apply for a second job.  Do I need to send in another application?

Yes. We encourage you to apply for each opportunity where you meet the basic qualifications of the position. Our electronic system will route your resume directly to those involved in the hiring decision.

How long will my resume remain in the Medtronic database?

Your resume will remain in our database for a minimum of 3 years. At any time, you can access and manage your personal data (update and/or change your profile in our database).

What happens after I submit my resume?

You will receive an e-mail acknowledging receipt of your resume. A Medtronic representative will contact you if we determine your unique qualifications, skills, and experience are a match for our job needs. As you may realize, we receive many applications and wish to review each one carefully. This process may therefore take a few weeks, which we hope you will understand. Due to the large number of applications we receive, we are unable to respond individually to each candidate.

What is Medtronic's position on search firms?

Medtronic does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firms or recruiting agencies. We ask prospective employees to submit their resumes (preferably in English) directly online in our Career Opportunities section. If we seek the assistance of a search firm, we require a signed agency agreement and job order.

What technical steps should I take to ensure a smooth submission of my resume online?

Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 or higher, which you can download from www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp.
For Mac users, the best option is Firefox, which you can download from www.firefox.com.
